A Madison woman has arranged a fundraising event, “An Evening in Pink,” to help fund scalp cooling for other women in the future.
In 2016, Roberta Lombardi was diagnosed with breast cancer. Now cancer-free, Roberta is helping to raise money for other women who face the same diagnosis. The funds raised will be split 50-50 between miscellaneous financial expenses incurred during treatment, not covered by insurance, and the Paxman Scalp Cooling System. Roberta herself didn’t use scalp cooling but says, she wishes it was available when she had her own treatment.
“I can’t tell you the anguish I think that would have saved me, mentally, if I could have saved…you’ve already lost so much and you don’t recognize yourself once you get to that point and it’s really, it’s very defeating when you look in the mirror and you don’t have any hair,” she said.
An Evening in Pink will take place from 7 – 11 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club, Branford. Tickets are $200 per person. For more information email Roberta@infinitestrength.org or click here to find out more.
