Is Paxman Scalp cooling covered by insurance companies?

Initially this is a self-pay treatment – we are working hard to navigate the reimbursement landscape to ensure that scalp cooling is accessible to all in the future. You may wish to discuss this with your patient and encourage them to talk to their insurer about scalp cooling. Find guidance here.

How do we ascertain what size Paxman cap a patient needs?

A Paxman-trained member of the practice team would carry out ‘cap fitting’ in order to evaluate which size cap and cap cover the patient will need to order. This is a quick process which will only take a few minutes. See the instructional videos for more information.

How much does Paxman Scalp Cooling Cap cost?

The cost of the Scalp Cooling Cap is $500. Chemo cycles 1 through 4 are $200 per cycle. Cycles 5 and 6 are $150 per cycle. Cycles 7 through 12 are $100 per cycle. Pricing will be capped at $2,200. There is no additional cost to the patient.

How will my patient receive her Paxman Scalp Cooling Cap?

The Paxman Hub will dispatch the Paxman Scalp Cooling Cap to the patient’s home prior to commencing their scalp cooling treatment. The Paxman Scalp Cooling Cap will be delivered in a Paxman Personal Cap Kit and will contain the cap and supplementary items to ensure a great patient experience.

Does Paxman scalp cooling involve a lot of extra work for our Nursing Team?
